What you need to know before you call

What does TruthFind do?

TruthFind runs lie detector tests for private individuals using EyeDetect and VerifEye, technology made by Converus. TruthFind is Canada's only provider authorized by Converus, the maker of EyeDetect and VerifEye. When you call, you speak with the examiner, not a referral or lead service.

How the tests work

Who are tests for?

Anyone who wants to support a truthful statement about what they did or did not do, or said or did not say: relationship and trust concerns, theft of property, contract and business disputes, family matters, or a statement given to a lawyer. Every person tested must take part voluntarily. TruthFind does not do employment testing.

In person or remote?

EyeDetect is done in person at a testing station: in Southwestern Ontario, or anywhere in Canada by appointment when the examiner travels to you. VerifEye is a remote test taken on your own iPhone or Android phone.

How much does it cost?

Tests start at $400. The final price depends on the type of test and, for in-person testing outside Southwestern Ontario, travel. You get an exact quote on the phone before anything is arranged.

What affects the cost

How the process works

  1. Call the examiner

Describe your situation in general terms. The call is confidential and there is no obligation.

  2. Find out whether it is suitable

The examiner explains what a test can and cannot answer, and whether it fits your circumstances. Sometimes the honest answer is that it does not.

  3. Choose in person or remote

The examiner recommends EyeDetect in person or VerifEye on your phone, confirms the price and arranges the test personally. No online booking or payment is needed before you have spoken.

  4. Write your statement and take the test

The person being tested writes a short statement about what happened, and the test checks their truthfulness against it. A camera records eye behaviour. No sensors are attached to the body.

  5. Results

The test is scored automatically, and the examiner explains the result and its limits.

An honest word about what lie detector testing can do

EyeDetect and VerifEye give a structured, neutral way to address one specific question. They are not mind-reading machines, and no test is 100% accurate. The manufacturer reports accuracy of about 86% to 88% for EyeDetect and about 80% for VerifEye, depending on the type of test. That means wrong results do happen.

Results are not proof of guilt or innocence. They are not accepted as evidence in Canadian criminal courts, and they are not a substitute for counselling, legal advice or a police investigation. We would rather tell you that on the phone than have you discover it afterwards.
